Photosymbiosis and circa-tidal rhythms in the marine acoel  Symsagittifera roscoffensis, who has an obligatory symbiosis with the algae Tetraselmis convolutae. This close relationship includes the recurrent migration of the acoels out of the sand during low tides and back into it during high tides.

Check this review on S. roscoffensis as an emerging model system in molecular biology and Evo-Devo research, and this wiki for more general information.

Like many other marine organisms, Bearded Fireworws (Hermodice carunculata) fluoresce in the presence of blue light. We described the different color morphotypes, analyzed their vertical distribution in the reef, and studied the origin of such fluorescence.

The invasive lion fish Pterois spp. is a well established invasive species in the Caribbean Sea. While helping with the eradication efforts on Bonaire (Dutch Caribbean), we also studied the colonization of lion fish in the mangrove ecosystem and the effects of their presence on patchy shallow coral heads.
